The worst part about the shutdowns/mask mandates for me was the loss of being smiled at by women. Depressed me more than anything else, the loss of those random smiles in unexpected moments was one of those things you do not realize the importance of until it is gone.

For me it was the relationships that caused me to stop feeling love, not the breakups. I am convinced that you can only "love" women in a puppy doggish, juvenile way in your early 20s, and men who continue to behave like that into their late 20s are emotionally stunted compared to past generations.

"Simping" is just the entelechy of the way men were already acting in the Forever Twenties "dating culture" of the last several decades. All the romcoms, sitcoms, all the Taylor Swift songs, they're all presupposing a feminine form of gender relations in which flirty adolescent romance is the only thing that matters and the only phase of courtship. For a long time, men had enough residual masculine culture to hold this feminine culture at bay, but once the levies broke, men were fully transformed in its image. The result is simps.

Women are supposed to be part of your life, not all of it, not even the majority of it.

I got one of those very warm and prolonged smiles by an incredibly pretty pair of teenage girls a few days ago, they must have been around 16. Divine, purely in a wholesome way. I think it must have added years to my life. I had a genuine smile and a 'good morning' from a pleasantly faced young father & son today too, completely out of the blue and far from home. It really does brighten your day up, I think I'm gonna try smiling at people more often. I'm glad masks have gone now
