I'd recommend that you stay away from this blackpill though, anon. I sincerely wish I'd never read such lit.

babby's first. The asymmetry argument is false because there isn't more pain than pleasure in life unless you're a so-called secular atheist/nihilist type of person.

The implications of antinatalism are so categorically damning for humanity that I don't understand how proponents are able to go on living. While I certainly feel that there are far too many people on the planet (just imagine how much nicer things would be it only, say, 100 million people lived on earth in smaller rural communities), I'm not yet onboard with the idea that ALL human life is in fact undesirable. I've been meaning to read Benatar but haven't gotten around to it yet.

AN is really the conservative position to take. one could be wrong in ones anti-natalist convictions, but if you're not and you still have a kid, the consequences are enormous. if AN is wrong and you don't have a child, no big deal you're just a person who never had kids. Since AN is clearly not a patently absurd position it needs a strong rebuttal. for the meantime I'm a cautious anti-natalist.

What's the point of anti-natalism? The actual problem is how those descendants keep the ball rolling. We're en route to disaster, but AN is a highly nihilistic solution, where just a change of course could be applied. Easier said than done, obviously.

That's not how it works, especially for women. Look at all the unmarried childless late 30s early 40s career girl bosses ripping their hair out right now.

I agree with this and I was an antinatalist for six years. It leads you to conclusions about the nature of existence so horrific that all one can do is reject it on those grounds alone.
