How many books do you read a month?

>> No.19887575

My reading is normally slow because I try to savor every good sentence ...

>> No.19887609

usually about 7 or 8, sometimes more if I happen to read shorter ones.

>>19887575
same. I used to read faster but I realized I wasn't enjoying or even comprehending some of the stuff I was reading, once I slowed down I started to enjoy reading a lot more.

>> No.19887640

I read 1 to 3 a year. I want to read more.

I'm busy with college. During the summer months, I'm working a job at McDonalds. My family believes in staying busy which is the cost I have to pay for living with them at age 27. I'm living with them, because I can't afford living expenses. Hopefully this business degree that I picked out will give me the ability to work a job that pays a decent middle class lifestyle wage.

I read 4 last month, 5 if you count finishing a book on the first day of this month as last month's reading. I try to read as much as I can at work but otherwise I do most of my reading in bed before I go to sleep.

I get that. I do want to get through college though. I'm living on my mother's side of the family; they have been very supportive of my future. If I play my cards right I'll go far with what I need to do now. They aren't going to be around forever. I am well aware of how rough I'll have to toughen out when my elders are gone with my brothers being left. People of my generation tend to have a with us or against us mindset that I have issues with considering I'm a mixed bag. Finding open-minded people is difficult. For now though I'm sticking with reading slow. You do bring up a good point of how I should speed things up as I have 250 books. I have gone through about thirty of the books I have owned so far leaving me with that amount.

Two to three, I work 30ish hours a week. When it comes to reading I have to take breaks to soak everything in so to speak. Really internalize it. Unless it’s something light of course.

1 Novel a week depending on how big it is, so on average 4 novels, maybe 3 if it's something huge.
I read a short story every day so if you count collections like that as books that's 1 or 2 more books a month.
