let me get back to you for pics, but basically it really depends on the format of your pdf. if it's a book/manga etc then it reads fine and you don't have to do anything. if it's an academic paper/double page pdf scan/anything meant to be A4 you have to use the "sliding window" thing which basically split the page into zones that will be traversed in the order of your choice. you can find some videos on youtube that illustrate this. personally it's comfortable enough for me, although i haven't a lot of academic papers on it yet.

there is also the option of getting the 13 inches model (max lumi i think?) but it's big and expensive, though really cool for split-screen note taking.

Awful responses here.

An ereader is an ereader. A piece of plastic with a function. I bought a basic kindle because I was on a low budget and wanted something to take with me when I'm away from home. $50 on some amazon sale. Never connected it to the internet and you can convert anything to the amazon format with calibre which 99% of people here have and use anyway.

A kobo clara HD would have been nice, but I didn't want to pay that much at the time as I didn't know how much Id use the device. Turns out to be a lot more than anticipated, and I will for sure get a Kobo if the battery on the kindle ever tires out.

Also keep in mind, if you have a Kindle:

Hide page number, hide progress bar and slightly increase the font size and spacing.
You also should get a case with an elastic strap to put your hand in. With a case it fits snugly in the hand and since it's small it's like a mass market paperback that's easy to read in bed, on your side, in any position you want. Peak comfy.

as far as the smaller device storage, most of my epub books are in my computer anyway, i just xfer back and forth as needed so not an issue
