The allusion is that industrial society is a Disneyland. The culture in which we work and sleep are no more imaginary than the fantasy in Disneyland. The only horrifying difference is we take the rides seriously; we do not plan their course.

Isn't he just saying that Disneyland is explicitly made up which makes us forget that our "land" is also made up? I don't get what's confusing.
