depends. lotta mfers read while they commute on public transport. i think thats kinda gay and inviting you to get buttraped by a gang of niggers. you could try to read during your lunch, assuming you don't work while you eat. or just read after you get into bed and until you're too sleepy to keep going. if its too good of a book to stop then you'll find time for it.

I work 40h a week. I wake up at 5am read for an hour or two after breakfast (short story/essay and one poem) and then an hour at lunch (novels, non-fiction) and then an hour at home and then I write.
I meal prep almost everything I eat one day out of the week and try to minimize as much hands on time in the kitchen as possible, reading while a slow-cooker or oven is going. My commute is 5 minutes though, if it was longer I'd try audio books but I really like to make margin notes. Time management really comes down to priorities, you have way more time than you think if you start to kick out useless activities, hurry them up or do things in parallel.

It's easy when you only work 40 hours a week instead of some shitty 50-60+ hrs/wk grind, which is the point when it really starts to negatively impact your personal life in the sense of not being able to get anything fun done (I speak from experience). Also not having any other serious obligations in life helps, basically maximally clears the board for your hobbies (the things that actually matter in life) apart from subsistence/daily chores.

I usually work from 9 or 10 to 6. I go to sleep at midnight and get up at 7, that gives me 17 hours of time every day. I generally read 30 minutes before work, when i get home I eat dinner and usually work on music for an hour, sometimes two. After that i read until midnight. It’s that simple, just make the time to do it and don’t waste time on bullshit

I work in a woodshop with a lot of loud machines and hearing protection is required. Everyone wears earbuds or headphones, so I listen to audiobooks all day. Focus isn't a problem because I'm usually doing menial labor and listening to them multiple times. I've gotten through an insane amount of literature this way. I used to just pirate them but the selection is poor and it's too much effort for me now, so I shell out to Audible. Charlton Griffin is my go-to narrator.

I started reading lots of different novels back in junior high. I buy it, read it, enjoy it, even re-read it often when I don't have anything better to do. Life was a bit simpler, i don't play games or give a shit about internet that much

Fast forward, now I'm a busy 20 year old compsci student. Kinda bit overstimulated with the internet and devices, so I'm starting to buy random books again hoping that it will cure my "ADHD" somewhat. Sadly I don't know what's wrong with me but there have been some bad habis that happens when I read it.
- if i don't like the first few pages, I get very disappointed that I'm willing to throw it to the trashbin even though I spent money for it. There are like 2-3 books that fell victim to my autism.
- if i enjoyed the first few pages, my mind instantly wanders to something else. Should I take a picture of this page? Should I take notes of it? Should i share it on my socials? The fuck should I do?

I read thousands of random articles / journals on the daily with my phone / laptop and I know how to deal with it, if it's helpful then I'll bookmark it then take some notes of it to my Evernote. But the fuck should I do when I enjoyed a physical book? Should I take notes of it as well? Why does this starts to sound like a lot of work? Like I'm doing a thesis? When do i finally get to enjoy myself without worrying anything? Am I being a fool for only capturing the feeling in my brain and heart and not write it somewhere? What the fuck am I reading in the first place?

I already don't have much free time already to read a goddamn book. For fuck sake. I've stopped playing video games, even the single player ones. I don't watch shows, movies or series. Yet I can comfortably waste my time on this site watching people talk about the stuff they like.

I'm sorry /lit/, sorry for being a total wreck of mess.
