Not anon but vincents pens very beautiful descriptions of the world around him, he talks very authentically about religion and the kindness in the men he has met. vincent has incredible writing skills and the book makes you understand why he painted the way he did.

Not a novel, but I’d say this book is about as anti-nihilistic as anything I’ve ever read gets besides Stoic philosophy. Everything else in some way or another either leads to pessimism or to nihilism due to presenting excessively high expectations for how humans ought to behave and what kind of rewards people ought to deserve for their actions.
