I mean, if you enjoy it then it isn't a waste. But some moderation may be good to practice. I'd say, discipline is needed. Don't allow yourself to cruise the site until you've done 'X', whether it's read a certain amount, walk around the block, etc.. Then, you won't feel so bad. Start small, too.
