You could say this about literally any interest compared to another. It's silly that they made the comparison to something that is also productive, that isn't really much of a gotcha.

It's literally a false dichotomy to make working on your body and working on your mind mutually exclusive like the twitter nigger did. You can read a book and go to the gym/backyard. Stay /fitlit/.

I know this is a low IQ bait thread but:
If you read and learn then you'll grow and acquire knowledge. You might even find meaning and purpose in life. Lifting weights because some teens on 4chan shilled it and because there is no other method of masculinity in the current times is not a good investment. Your muscles will shrink once you stop going to gym.

I know most of you are low IQ, don't read and you only go to gym because it's shilled enough here. You wouldn't go to gym if 4channers didn't call it le based and le redpill.

Did you know that you can do other forms of exercise to keep your body healthy? Im pretty sure many of you gymcels would like to play some team sport or swim or something rather than autistically lift objects.
The real reasons why 4channers go to gym are
1) shilled enough. This is comparable to eating bugs if you see enough ads of bug food
2) Feel masculine. You can't feel masculine being a wagie or a NEET. Need some feeling of power and manhood
3) Muscles are a primitive form of mate-guarding. Subconsciously trying to look bigger and exaggerate fighting ability.

OP here. I think if you read and learn you should have the insight and introspection not to lift because some 4chinners shilled it but have a better reason for it. Preferably a reason coming from your personal philosophy or an understanding of where you and your body are headed which is partially developed by reading.

Working out is usually the most accessible way to experience objective positive feedback from effort. And I mean strength and health more so than admirers, but that too.
In a world where politics, economics, culture, has a large disconnect between its supposedly-meritocratic and liberal values and its actual appraisals of worth and rewards of wealth and success, working out has become the materialist secular world’s manifestation of ataraxia. Very much like the Hellenistic philosophical age being concerned with the soul and virtue in its philosophy, because everything around them was turbulent and divided among varying empires, etc., it is not a sign of sacrifice in pursuit of wisdom, but a necessary ritual for equilibrium.
Those who work out are more likely to care about self-improvement and usually consider literature or some other art form to be part of that.
