ok, i'm at a dead end here.

i'm from germany and over the next holidays we have to read one of those novells. i want some opinions.

If you have not read The Hound of the Baskervilles, do so.

Apart from being rather well written, it's a damn entertaining story.

>> No.1960940

Read Hound!

Or The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time, because the title is a Sherlock quote. I read that book around when it came out, but I don't remember it very well...I think I liked it.

What sorts of things do you like to read, OP? Would you prefer something that is short and easy to grasp, or something that you'd want to involve yourself in a bit more? Something fun, something depressing?

>> No.1960948

i really like the stevenson.

>> No.1960949

well, i'd like a story which i'll enjoy. a story which could draw me in. not just some story i have to read because people say it's nice.

The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time.

Although, The Great Gatsby is really good too...

Death of a Salesman is one of the saddest pieces of writing I've read.

It's a classic work and I would highly suggest it. It is not too long and is in the form of a play, so it's easy to read and even so the story remains brilliantly tragic.

0 = The Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
1 = Dracula
2 = The Kite Runner

Catcher in the Rye ist sehr gut, keine Frage.
Brave New World ist natürlich ziemlich harter Tobak, also wenn du gut bis in Englisch gehts eigentlich.

I'd pick between 6, 7, 13, 16, 17, 18, 27, and 28 if I were you.

Brave New World would likely be my choice, especially if you're doing a presentation.
