>The Trouble With Being Born
>A Short History of Decay
>On the Heights of Despair
What order? Also "Conspiracy against the Human Race" before these or after?

>> No.19608684

If you want aphorisms, then The Trouble with Being Born>All Gall is Divided>Drawn and Quartered>Anathemas and Admirations>The New Gods

If you want introductory essays then The Fall Into Time.

If you want his most beautifully written book, A Short History of Decay

If you want his politics then History and Utopia

What kind of writer is Ligotti? Based on /lit/ opinions of him, he seems to be an amateur writer who shouldn't be lumped together with Cioran.

>Conspiracy against the Human Race
This is just a Zapffe ripoff.

>> No.19609347

>>19609304
Ligotti hasn't evolved as a writer nor person at all despite having been published for nearly four decades, he doesn't really have much to say and when you realize he's intellectually bankrupt you can't enjoy his writings any more.

Because nobody on /lit/ reads. Primarily he is a weird fiction/horror writer. Ligotti is up there with the greats of genre.

The Conspiracy Against the Human Race is a well written book. But you to consider that Ligotti wrote a nonfiction book as a fiction writer. But finish the book before forming any opinion.

You're totally retarded. This is written at the start of The Conspiracy Against the Human Race:

>"To the memory of Peter Wessel Zapffe"

We're discussing Zapffe right now solely due to Ligotti's efforts. And he didn't "rip off" Zapffe but used his thesis for further elaboration and his read is spot on. I know you haven't read the book because Ligotti presented passages from Tolstoy which presented same thesis as Zapffe.

When in doubt, go chronological (top down), or don't. None of this matters and it'll all be over in a few years anyway.

The Fall Into Time is on amazon for 80$ so cop another vanity bro, don't leave this unfinished.

I was reading your post from 4 years ago last. I was wondering why you doesn't stop by or take part in Cioran threads. What's the fucking deal with Notebooks? Was it published in English translation or not?

Also I have downloaded Searching for Cioran by Ilinca Zarifopol-Johnston the other day but the writing style of that woman is totally gay. Have you read it?

Yeah, I should get Fall into Time to complete the set, you're right. I'm dragging my feet on it because I've actually read a physical copy (the local library used to have one) and I've since saved the pdf. The library's copy has since disappeared, presumably someone realized it has value and stole it. I wonder which posts you're referring to, that was a while back (might not have been me?) and I only made that pic like a year ago.

I have other stuff I've been reading and I want to do the rest of Cioran as a block.

I've gotten two secondary (English) works: that one, and the "Cioran's dark past (he was totally a crypto-nazi U guys!)" book. To be very clear, the only two I've actually read are All Gall is Divided and Fall into Time. Just haven't got round to it yet.

You're an one lazy subhuman. It's been 5 years that you're shilling Cioran, yet you have read only two books by him? What's your deal bro?

I have also read the thread in the archive that you have made when you read The Fall Into Time and you said you're going to post pages where he shits on cars but you never did and you went to work.

Cioran would have loved your slothfulness, kek.

Found the bit on cars, since I have the pdf now. I want to say there might be one or two other spots.
