19564496 No.19564496 [Reply] [Original]

I have to get a book gift for my coworker. Says she likes shit like Wuthering Heights and celebrity bios, gothic lit/historical lit etc. Basically just shitty era-themed romance. I’m a sci-if/nonfic history chad and haven’t ever wasted my time sifting through garbage like this so I don’t know what to buy, might just ignore her preferences and get her something that’s actually good like Flashman. Help me out litbros

Get her some classic romantic fiction, ideally written by a woman. Anne Radcliffe would be good. Or maybe Hugo. The Main Who Laughs would be good.

Pride and Prejudice is a great romance and subtle satire on aristocratic life in the late 18th century. Very well written.
War and Peace is actually a long, drawn out romance. Also very well written and good historical fiction.
Tell her to read the book then watch the BBC multipart film. She'll love it. Better yet, read the books to her -- idk, my wife likes that.

Get her the memoirs of Casanova, it's got romance, autobiography, and ye olde historical tales of derring do all in one.

Although there are issues with some translations, trying to find a good unabridged one myself. The free translation on gutenberg.org is considered Bowdlerized trash.

lol you might be right, while casanova's tale isn't just about him fucking and sucking, that's what he's become synonymous with so idk, i didn't think about that. depends on if she knows more about casanova than the memes, then.

Treat them with respect and your cock. Only watch video content with them after fucking when falling asleep. Find women who you can talk to about your scholarly interests: they will certainly be lesbians, don't try to fuck them, if they want to fuck you it'll probably be to steal your semen for unholy witchcraft rituals focused on implementing a new line of Royalty in Scotland. DO NOT FEED LESBIANS YOUR SEMEN THEY WILL SPIT IT INTO EACH OTHERS CUNTS AND CAUSE THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF WINDSOR.

LOOK AT THE QUEEN. SHE DESERVES A FUCKING BREAK.
