The humor in my statement lies in the fact that those who seek out works written by people of color generally do so due to their left-wing views, yet Mishima and Naipaul, two of the most prominent non-white writers of the 20th century, were both very right-wing.

I remember reading BM where the bartender mistook Glanton and Holden for niggers and he told them that he'd be happy to serve "people of color" and he used those words: people of color. And that book was written in the 80s and Mccarthy did a lot of research into the period he was writing about which makes me wonder whether the term POC is as new as some people seem to think. I mean, it literally is no different from colored people either way. Who even came up with the whole "POC" thing in the modern era? Should progressives be censored for the sake of language?

If you count Chinese as POC, then perhaps "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", not to be confused with the "Records of the Three Kingdoms" which is a historical text. It's considered to be one of the four great classics of Chinese literature, classics which you could look into if you are interested.

Speaking as a white supremacist, I'm very fond of the Chinese. They're the hardest slap in the face the baizuo have ever received.

We'll conquer and enslave them eventually, but I think we're in for an confusing interlude of a few hundred years before that happens.

Percival Everett - Erasure
>Thelonious "Monk" Ellison's writing career has bottomed out: his latest manuscript has been rejected by seventeen publishers, which stings all the more because his previous novels have been "critically acclaimed." He seethes on the sidelines of the literary establishment as he watches the meteoric success of We's Lives in Da Ghetto, a first novel by a woman who once visited "some relatives in Harlem for a couple of days." Meanwhile, Monk struggles with real family tragedies―his aged mother is fast succumbing to Alzheimer's, and he still grapples with the reverberations of his father's suicide seven years before.

>In his rage and despair, Monk dashes off a novel meant to be an indictment of Juanita Mae Jenkins's bestseller. He doesn't intend for My Pafology to be published, let alone taken seriously, but it is―under the pseudonym Stagg R. Leigh―and soon it becomes the Next Big Thing. How Monk deals with the personal and professional fallout galvanizes this audacious, hysterical, and quietly devastating novel.
