Maybe a bit disturbed, definitely not depressed, though. The board definitely can be pretty melancholic, but I like how calm it is, relatively speaking. There's still the tinge of bitter hatred that's present everywhere on this site but it shows its face less.

People just come here to learn how to posture as deep and introspective and collect a list of high-minded texts they can name drop and never read.
Most people here are just soft males of around college age who can’t stand the idea of feeling bland or foolish so they come here and practice getting huffy and looking down on others.

That's just 4Chan as a whole. From what I've seen, /lit/ is a board with relatively little trolling, hate, etc.
It's not exactly what I would want in a perfect world, but given the landscape of social media today it's as good as it gets.
