As somebody who normally despises the tossing about of the term pretentious and the usage of it as a label for any work of art that expresses ambition, the anon who posted that movie folder is pretentious.

This is because of the sheer density of stereotypically "art house" directors in the folder, along with how (for lack of a better term) "entry level" they are. If you have a bunch of good but somewhat mainstream films in combination with entry level art house films, that's not pretentious. If you have a bunch of art house films of varying levels of obscurity, that's not pretentious.

If you have a folder full of nothing but entry level art house films, that's pretty damn pretentious.
