I think most ppl already accept this. You have to understand this attracts deranged ppl so you'll get a lot of fervent anti china stuff w reaching copes at best and just harassment in general.

Of what I've read ppl are upset that it doesn't necessarily spell the end of western liberalism. I argue it does tho. Capitalist companies will culturally kowtow to China especially when the economy becomes the largest in gdp and if parity is reached in gdp per capita then there really is no more argument left for America.

Now an interesting metric to watch out for is if China beats Elon in space as Elon represents the height of western culture (at least rn) in being extremely rich and an individual go-getter. If China's system of group dynamics supercede Elon then there is literally no justification left. I doubt China will focus on that as they are a bit more focused on the us state in nasa which is safe but rather a relic.

As for books I think everyone is waiting to see what will happen.

Read the Orville book and you'll understand that China has a massive chip on their shoulder ("muh, the evil West conquered OUR China") and that they are used to failing big time. It means that even if they completely fuck up and flush down all the achievements of the last 30-40 years their brainddead population will quietly accept it because, again, they are culturally accustomed to spectacular failures (great leap forward, cultural revolution etc).
