what was the last thread you made?

>> No.19475095

The same reason why the Tao Te Ching filters most people.

>> No.19475210

Kybalion is literally Hermetic philosophy for midwits, try reading actual Hermetic literature and not this watered down bullshit

I barely hear anyone talk, much less complain about this book. are you creating imaginary midwits to point and laugh at?

And about the people who bring it up, they dont particularly seethe about it.

I am sorry I told you the truth. How many threads popping up talk about how much the Kybalion really made them grind their teeth and squee.

read Vol. 2 first, it's the Corpus Hermeticum, then go back to Vol. 1 and 3.
Not strictly Hermeticism but also read Manly P. Hall's The Secret Teaching of All Ages and Wisdom of the Knowing Ones
Also Evola's The Hermetic Tradition.

>Gnosis
Not a Hermetic but Gnostic Christianity is Based. I am currently reading through Gnosticism: New Light on the Ancient Tradition of Inner Knowing by Stephen A Hoeller and so far it has been a great enjoyable read.

this is just Vol. 2 of Mead's Thrice Greatest Hermes but in a different translation and without commentary. I prefer Mead over Copenhaver's translation and Mead's commentary is useful, so unless you prefer Copenhaver over Mead there's no reason to start with this.

>> No.19477147

>>19475724
Copenhaver works from a closer to source translation in greek whereas Mead from unreliable Latin sources.

the corpus hermeticum

>> No.19477180

This book is literally new age crap. Talking about "vibrations" and shit, stf u, in Brazil we have this religion called "spiritism" which is basically the same as this book, new age "spiritual" stuff for suburban middle class midwits.

dont read this meme book its a waste of time. literally just one short text about astrology (clearly a different author from the corpus) and then a bunch of two sentence fragments
