MY. Have you ever seen such an alluring cover? I'm not in the habit of reading female authors, especially those who write novels about "the tension between marrying for love, rather than wealth or social prestige, and the pressure to assure financial security" but LORD, what a tantalizing cover. Never in my life have I seen anything like it.
TRULY the nature of sexual desire is dissatisfaction, the tease. I have never in my life viewed pornography, drawn or recorded, moving or still, that has truly encompassed my sexual interest; I realize this is because the nature of bodily desire is magnitude of longing rather than degree of satisfaction. The tastefully draped woman is to my eyes much more beautiful than the nude.
The spread vagina is ugly. Vulgar cunt is the greatest imminence to the thing in itself, and it's not at all attractive.
Stepping back once, the nude leaves nothing to imagination's chisel and, when not the product of man's arts, is always ill-proportioned: it makes one think of what virtues are missing rather than which are present.
A step further back, the veiled lady: a curved figure draped in a loose garment, this is what excites maximal desire: it is both the actuality of the woman and the promise of the ineffable.
The furthest remove, the muse, the abstract idea of the feminine: the purest of inspiration undoubtedly, and pure not only in substance but in the sense of lacking fleshy attachments.
But seriously I would never go out in public with this book. Name of the painting too please.

Beautifully written and I completely agree. Seeing a woman in her nakedness removes the otherworldly promise of what could be and replaces it with the earthly what is. When I am attracted to a beautiful woman, I really don't imagine that she has a pussy. I mean of course I know that she does, but I do not imagine it to be like other pussies.
