I thought Theon, Victarion, and Asha's chapters were good.

Jon's chapters were good, but frustrating. If Jon dies, I would expect Ghost chapters in the next book since Jon would have a second life like Varamyr.


The Dorne chapter was good too. I would've like to see more of Doran and co.

Tyrion started ok, but once he got to the slave cities, they were not interesting. I wish Tyrion would've stayed with Aegon. That would've eliminated 1 POV character and have more focus on Aegon landing on Westeros.

One thing the book was sorely lacking for me was a Sansa chapter, with all this shit going on there's fucking nothing about what's going on in the Vale. Whatever happened at Winterfell, there's no way Littlefinger has anticipated it.

I also have a feeling either Roose or Ramsay may already be dead, but that may just be wishful thinking. The only cliffhanger that's bugging me is the fate of "Abel".

Theon reached Stannis before the Boltons. The fact that they think Jon has the fake Arya, means that Theon is still missing.

I was pretty happy with the Tyrion chapters, he's clearly having a rough time of it, with the loss of connection to his family and House. (Now he knows how Sansa felt).

Danys chapters were fine for me, it was interesting to see her getting stuck in the quagmire of Meereen politics. I'd lay money that the Harpy is that green grace. People whine about her being a mary-sue, but in truth she's just a young princess floundering about with sub-standard "friends" and advisors beneath her. Myrcella knows how that feels.

Barristan was a welcome new POV character, Victarion continues to get more interesting. Cersei and Jaime's short sections were excellent, Arya leaves you wanting MORE ARYA CHAPTERS PLEASE.

Dany has found her old Khalasar, only this time she has a huge fucking dragon backing her. If this Meereen shit is going to get resolved, she rides back with them, breaks the siege, then Victarion arrives with his fleet and lifts the blockade. Then Aurane Waters arrives with his stolen fleet, and all together they have enough ships to bring Danaerys and her armies to Westeros, and the fucking story can finally begin to move.
