We had three writes what on your minds threads in the catalog, but the mods didn’t delete them, yet they prune the one that was made after the last one reached the bump limit? I tried to be an electrical apprentice but I messed up at my two first companies. Not like I shocked someone or something, but a poor work ethic and lack of focus did me in. Now that I have had time away from the trade, I understand that all of the mistakes were my fault. I worry that if I apply at the wrong job, I will hate it, and want to take my own.

My family are in the final stages of arranging a marriage for me. I have 'dated' the girl in question now for several months, and the time has come for me to propose. I can't decide one way or the other.

The girl herself is pure marriage material - kindhearted, goodnatured, intelligent, loyal, honest, and above all, absolutely beautiful. Every earthly instinct tells me to marry this girl, and to cherish her.

I have known her, and her family, for my entire life. Our fathers were very close friends when they attended university in [undisclosed Arab country]. I had the misfortune of being infected in my teenage years with ideas of nihilism, pessimism, and atheism, and this led me long ago to cut all spiritual and philosophical ties with the religion of Islam. I have concluded that the religion is false, that Muhammad was a false prophet, and that the Quran is the literary work of man and not god.

Naturally, nobody knows of my apostasy - nobody at all - because it would completely destroy every personal relationship I have in my life, and would also literally mean the death sentence for me back in the old country, which I still regularly visit (and where my wife-to-be has expressed a desire to move back to eventually).

For this reason, it seems that I cannot marry this girl, who I love. She wears a hijab, prays 5 times a day, recites and has memorised the Quran, and loves her religion. Her soul is full of that innocent happiness and assuredness that seems to only come with faith. My philosophy today is completely incompatible with hers, and our lives as a married couple would be doomed to fail.

Perhaps I could marry her, to live a life of pure pretend? To pray, to fast, to generally LARP a Muslim, at all times, for the rest of my life. Only then could I have a future with this girl. But would it not be wrong to live a lie like this, to lead my wife in prayer to a god I don't believe in? But it's so tempting to me. This girl is like a treasure. And who else could I marry? Should I marry some English girl, with no cultural or enthographic relation to me, brought up with no religion or philosophy at all, who'd probably sucked 20 dicks by the time of her 20th birthday, who'd divorce me after 5 years and take my money? No. In my mind, it has to be her, or none at all.
