I feel as though the qualities I once clinged to and which gave me my special deluded sense of individuality have all faded away. I just finished High Spirits by Robertson Davies, which is admittedly as much Christmas as it is Halloween though. Not spooky at all, but endearing. I think lit could do with reading more Davies, I think you'd all like him. If you can find a copy on short notice try A Night in Lonesome October by Zelazny. More a novella than short story, but very good.
