I’m interested in medieval folk tales regarding Christianity, can you guys recommend some stuff to read? I’m specifying folk tales cause I already know about (and am not looking for) medieval theological or mystical works. Stuff like the Wakefield Cycle (you might know it as the Towneley mystery plays, or you may have heard of the second shepherds play), the Medieval Popular Bible, or the Legend of the Rood.
This interest was largely sparked by reading the tumbler of our lady, a popular medieval story about a jester who develops his own monastic tradition
The Divine Comedy is kinda a “well duh” suggestion for medieval Christianity, though it’s a bit more high-concept than the specific stuff I’m looking for. I’m more interested in folk tales

Well, old works are in the public domain, so you know what to do, my dude. Get to translating.
