Stop asking us this R.C. Even if we told you what was so bad about your novel, it wouldn't help you for your next one. You didn't listen to any of KD's criticisms the first time, and you regressed with L'Académie. You are doomed as a writer.

R.C. Waldun is My child and lives in My name. He is blessed with great gifts and is destined to write numerous best-selling novels for My Father's glory.

I read the first two pages that were posted here and caught a handful of spelling errors and syntactical ambiguities. Notwithstanding the fact he's from Australia (I think; I don't care anyway), it's evidence of an undisciplined style rather than a creative free-form, something that I used to mark up in nearly every creative writing submission I read at the college magazine I helped edit. Also, the fact that it could have that many errors in less than 300 words despite having dedicated editors is laughable and betrays either an ineptitude or an ill-will against the author.

What went wrong can be seen from the first day he went public with his youtube videos and entered into dark academia. The snobby, pseudo intellectual vigor with which he presented himself in all his videos that made him out to be the next coming writer of our times. When in fact, his work showed his true colours and abilities.

R.C. Waldun is such a talentless midwit you know he's just going to become a middle manager somewhere where he'll think about his youthful dreams of becoming a writer and he'll always be bitter about not accomplishing his dreams because he's convinced he has the talent but life gave him a bad roll. He'll subtly take out his resentment and frustration at his underlings so he'll only be tolerated and not liked at his job.

Or he'll become an adjunct professor and everything in the previous paragraph will still apply but he'll take it out on his students. And he'll have a huge sense of superiority and will be one of those professors who preaches and will have unchanging and unchallenged beliefs that he'll force his students to parrot back in their essays.

The other day I was going to lambast Waldun in the literature class I teach. At the beginning of class I asked if anyone had heard of R.C. Waldun. I noticed a few of the girls in the class I want to bang perk up a bit, nod their heads a little too enthusiastically. I ended up chickening out and said if you want some life advice as a young person in college, R.C. Waldun sometimes gives good advice or ideas in his videos.

I've now crossed over into the Waldunian side of life.

The reason Clark's lizard fetish was snooped out by /lit. He was trying to score followers off of Waldun's channel and was promoting the book (Waldun had appeared in one of his videos to help his channel grow). At the peak of the shitstorm, he started seeding smug comments on social media about the book (trying to ape and gain followers from KDBooks). When he was called out he was condescending and was tricked into admitting he didn't even read it.

The end of what happened is in that screenshot. (But it should also be noted he shut the fuck up about L'Academie).

>> No.19262681

If he had worried about his work more and less about publicity his novels would at least have been higher quality. There is much that Waldun overlooked: The fact that dystopias are overplayed on Netflix, his desire to be considered literary (Ian Rankin has an interesting say on this.) This is youthful naivete at its finest, it should be a warning for people trying to make use of the internet to get ahead in their field of work.

Well, I think that upon releasing Dead Souls, it was categorized as genre fiction which he was not happy about, his tutor told him "Do you think John Buchan ever worried about whether he was writing literature or not?"

I think this is a good take. It's like how those metal bands in the late '80s and early '90s were sometimes putting out art without even realizing it.
