>Why yes I donate all my books (besides technical stuff) to the library after I'm done reading them, not because I respect libraries but because I would just throw them away otherwise. Any time I walk into a faggot's house and they have a bunch of books they will never read again I judge them as the filthy consoomer they are, might as well be a shelf of funko pops.

Having a huge library is based as fuck. It sparks conversations and you can lend them to friends or your spouse and kids can read them. OP is a fag.

Conversation yes but screw lending books. I know only one person who I can trust to not break the books spine, or blunt papers edge, or worse, return with stains the book to me

Or never get it back.
Besides that point, I only ever bought books because I figured I’d make my sons read them. Alas I still have no sons at 25. Sad.

I work for the public library and we don't take donations.

I have lived in a few cities where libraries don't take donations. They really should if the books are halfway decent, as a form of engagement if nothing else. I literally have no reason to go to the library except to dump my expensive copies of autism, so if they don't take them then it's their loss (but not really because they don't give a shit and have unwarranted budgets to buy whatever gay shit their employees want).

Don't want my books? Good, I'll give them away on craigslist. Meanwhile you become an increasingly irrelevant institution that people associate with homeless bums, public libraries as we know them probably won't exist in 2070. Point being that not accepting donations is a symptom of the overall cultural rot, if you don't want people to give you books or be involved with general good will toward your organization, people will lose faith in your importance. The library is no longer the place of public knowledge, it's a dump full of drunk homeless niggers and corny white women with useless degrees. This is saddening to me but it can't be helped, there are no brakes on this train.

Yeah libraries are gay and lame. Used book shops are still cool though.

My favorite used book shop has operated since the 70s and is staffed by some clueless eccentric boomer, they never sell any books and I have no idea how they stay open but god bless them.

My piano teacher lent me a book called Fromless by Carol Wilkinson. He then died before I even started it. Still have the book, and his free bookmark sits on page 15

I've got one of those here as well (the guy is in fraternitas saturni I think so I've kept my distance from the shop; don't have a problem with the occult, but FS in particular is giving me the heebie-jeebies)
