Rilke and Trakl were good to me when I did my first 2 semesters of german at university. I was already interested and wanted to "get" it, but I was able to find accessible texts that made learning the language more enjoyable. Paul Celan isn't very lyrical, but I also enjoyed as much of him as I could figure out.
