Does anyone know how to form Proto-Indo-European participles? I am trying to write "based" in PIE. The root (of the English, which will suffice) is *gʷémtis, and the stem is *gʷem-. According to some tables on Wikipedia, the stative participle thing is *-wos-. But is this correct, or should "based" be "middle eventive"? I assume it is not active eventive, right?

And then, how does this even work? Apparently you still have a personal ending on after the participle part? So assuming it (i.e. the thing that is based) is 3rd person singular, it would be:

But if it was second person (like "you are based"), then

And third person plural ("they are based")

Is this even close to being right?

How the fuck does that work? It was then theorized that PIE originally only had two genders, animate and inanimate (animate became male, inanimate split into neuter and female). But of course, no evidence.

Then Tocharian and the Anatolian languages were unearthed and it turns out that, yes, all that genealogical, linguistic, and archaeological evidence confirms that this theory works. Once the first half of the Anatolian branch was uncovered, some basic rules could then be plugged into the PIE model for what a "theoretical Anatolian language" would look like. And, it turns out, that this model works perfectly and could then predict completely new words in Anatolian languages.

So, it's pretty fucking accurate. Again, this is purely linguistic, this ignores that genetics and archaeology confirms that there was a "Proto-Indo-European people".
