been trying to get into him lately but not enjoying it so far, lost interest in his Nietzsche book (might give it another go) and the academic writing on him that I've peered into seem intent on making him seem really dull, find it more entertaining reading those claiming he was a fascist or whatever, someone write Based Bataille and I'll buy it

According to Agamben, Bataille had a much better understanding of Hegel than Kojeve. I am interested in Kojeve’s Hegel book though

Kojeve's on my list but might not get to him this year. Not familiar with Agamben.

He’s an interesting thinker, in a lot of ways he continues the projects of Foucault, Derrida, Deleuze. His writing from the 70s and 80s are a lot about art, once the 90s comes he gets much more political. He’s been very critical of the western world’s response to covid-19 and so is not as popular anymore.
