What I'm saying is that this is specific to artists, not indicative of a wider pop-freudian idea that "thing I say I am is opposite of what feel I am", because obviously there are macho guys who do macho things. But the second you seek to express that through art rather than lifestyle and action, then the pop-freudian thing has some salience.
