Work with what you've got. Obsessing over this shit actually hinders your IQ, so by fretting, you're actually becoming an even bigger midwit.

it's just that I feel terribly disappointed with my midwit status, I can't help but feel enormous envy when I read of these intellectual greats

What do you actually think you're missing out on because of a perceived difference in IQ? Wouldn't someone of lower IQ generally either not notice, or, not care?

This. Once I realized math I struggled with, I was getting styled-on in by literal highschoolers, it was hard not to resign myself to mediocrity.
All I can hope for is the fact that in some people it balances out in some areas over others, because unless that's true, I'm very solidly a midwit through and through.

Maybe if they had a sub-100 IQ, but they would notice if they’re a midwit.

There are people smarter than me out there, so what? I'd rather have someone stupid but good-natured as a friend than a smart and arrogant friend.

IQ factually means nothing because it is an arbitrary metric designed to mathematically quantify the learning metrics of the human mind, but the way in which it does so makes no sense. Humans cannot be measured on a scale, let alone by trying to claim our intelligence is so easily boiled down.
You can be considered smart if you're curious, logical, patient but decisivie when necessary and open to new information. Those who are truly smart don't parade around an IQ number- they know they're smart and remain confident in their abilities. If you want books to improve your intelligence, read stuff that strikes your interests and promotes advanced forms of thinking
