What does /lit/ think of David Graeber?

I usually hate communism and anarchism, but his book Debt: the first 5000 years makes a lot of sense.

look at that "man" -- his expression and his clown vest, atop a wrinkled, cheap shirt. And then consider your evaluation of his work, and your evaluation of your own understanding of economics. And then consider the possibility that you are simply not educated enough to evaluate this man's work, nor wise enough to evaluate his appearance. And then consider what people you have met that defy their initial appearance. Begin to judge. Begin to see

He's right though. He brings up several examples of societies that traded mostly or entirely using credit, including societies that had coins.

leftism is eternal, unbearable naivete, hence sociopathic extermination regimes, child abuse, and misery that all this entails. pretending things are the way you want them to be does not make it so

He's anti megacorporation and modern capitalism, but he doesn't seem like a crayon-eating antifa.

And so are you, and everyone else on this board. Point being?
You already act and talk like you're dead, so, there isn't a reason to consider your low-brow "gotcha" -- you're spiritually a dead man and not a serious person, especially, some contemporary figure who will be irrelevant in a few decades.

The research he did for "Bullshit Jobs" was asking people on his Twitter account if they felt they had one, after finding that out i'e never bothered with him.

That sucks. It's a good topic-- there are people out there being paid for doing basically nothing. Someone should do a deep dive on jobs like diversity specialists and re-write the book.

I agree, was interested in it, but once i learned that I just couldn't bring myself to read it.

A proper evaluation on what you said plus the real affects of the "mangerial revolution" would be great.

A little more than that, but you got that information *from* the book. He’s good enough to inform the reader just how he came to this —and it’s on the book! THEORY. It was all out in the open from the start and not pretending to be anything else.
