>The best way to learn a language quickly is to study on a daily basis and build a strong habit for yourself; even a small amount of daily study will move you faster towards your goals than hours and hours of study that are more sporadic
Polyglots of /lit/, how true is this.

the real best way to learn a language is to hang around people who speak it fluently.

learning by osmosis can only carry you so far. I listen to hours and hours of my chosen language a day, but I only know a handful of words

listening is not the same as having people to talk to.

>The best way to learn a language is to have your friends speak to you in said language even if you don’t understand. This is different from watching videos etc because … it just is ok
Holy fuck I knew /lit/ was retarded but this is astounding

u’re retarded. Language is a means of communication. Mutely observing (listening/watching) others communicate will never replace real experiences using the language to achieve communication. I’m sorry u’re autistic

It is true, but the most important part in learning is to actively use what you are learning
So practice talking and writing the language to yourself as you go about your day, rather than just focusing on lessons and tests

it's extremely true. otherwise you'll get burned out, and when you come back half a year later for another intensive streak, you'll waste time on relearning what you had forgotten. t. making slow but steady progress in 6 foreign languages
