For me its this first edition of The Will to Power by Friedrich Nietzsche. 1901. Has red edges, the entire book is in the original German. The typeface is very ornate by modern standards. I'll post a pic if anyone wants to see.

Probably my copy of Shelley's poetry. Don't know the date specifically, but it has leather and marbling in it so I know its at least before around 1910. Have a copy of Burns in a similar edition dated 1901, so I assume its just slightly earlier than that

I mean that's just blackletter type, it was the standard German way until (((Hitler))) deprecated it in favour of roman typefaces.

Can that be true? I have a 1936 Mein Kampf in Fraktur.

For anyone wondering: you actually get used to it pretty quickly, like within a couple hours of reading something in it. It's not as fancy as it looks.

My father got/stole it from a Lutheran church back in the 60s. The church attic he was renovating was full of bibles like this and he asked the sacristan if he could take one and he told him that he can't allow it but neither can he forbid it so he took one.

Comstocks philosophy from 1847, the front cover had a recipe clipping for stuffed baked peppers printed in a newspaper in 1914. The introduction to electricity is humorous as it refers to it as "now an important part of natural philosophy, is wholly of modern date".
