Yup. Unlike book of the new sun it actually deserves some of the praise it gets. Still the mystery is not as big as some people make it out to be and pale fire did it first.

Yep. This and Call of the Crocodile are the two best modern horror novels. So glad I listened to the rec threads and read this book.

People actually give two fucks about some anonymous people's opinion? Holy fuck that's pathetic. Just read what you want.

if it makes me a lit snob, then fine, i dislike it. but i wouldnt consider any part except the fast sections a real page turner. its too demanding for a "non-snob" kind of read and sparcely gripping. i hope someone who has read it more recently can confirm this but it has long "tf are you on about" sections there to pad it out so the book looks the way it does. on another note, it is surprising how many elements it shares with pale fire whilst being very dissimilar

I read this in HS and re-read some of the back matter recently. Is the novel worth revisiting?

>>19063691
CotC is so bad I have to assume you're the author self-shilling. It's a bad forced meme. Too bad... the author could have mad it purposefully bad or purposefully good. Instead it's just ignorable.

>>19064456
Very cringe, lol.

I remember a fair amount of it being interesting

gdi I guess I'll just re-read it over the next week

Call of the Crocodile is worth reading solely because of the ending. People shit on it just like House of Leaves. Ignore them. They will spam their nonsense no matter what. Just read the books you like.

Anyone who read the free epub feels the same. It's botched, totally.

This guy explains why your posts are false. According to the video Call of the Crocodile is as revolutionary as Cormac McCarthy.

yawn... the videos are the author's... very obviously

I read the book it's complete and utter laziness and an attempt at a cashgrab. My guess is he was pressured into getting a job by his parents and came up with this scam... and it isn't working lol though he is pointing to it and showing them but it's all astroturf. Sad.

Ok enough attention for this loser i'm done and he's finished lol

Clearly not. The guy making the videos doesn't give them all high ratings. Confirmed for not even watching.
