There's a theory that it was written to unite the different clans of original Jews (the ones who call themselves for Jews are fake), and to grant them an agreed upon consensus that was the common point of origin. This allowed Jews to build a functioning society rather than fight among themselves.

The testament served as a sort of book of things to keep in mind, like not giving too much power to women, not eating pigs because they sucked at being clean back then etc. Over time they added more and more things.

Then Jews got rekt by the stronger powers around them, which essentially ends the original Jews for good.

New testament was v2, but it was not made by Jews. It was most likely a Roman Greek of high standing who sought to wrestle control from Romans back into Greek hands - we can argue that christianity was a way for Greeks to get their own empire in form of Byzantium. The religion got highjacket along the way, but the Greeks doubled down and created the 'orthodox' branch which essentially still allowed them to go with the plan.

Quran was v3, and there are rumors that it was a Jewish attempt at doing something similar to Greeks, but it failed the moment Muhammaed went out of control.

Not sure if all of this is a true, but it does seem plausible.
