What did he actually say that wasn't just a vague, obvious and nevertheless self-important prediction? That the Age of Aquarius was going to become less religious than Pisces? That was obvious from the beginning of the 20th century, hardly an unusual or daring opinion. That it was going to solve or synthesise the problem of opposites? Jung's work was working towards that in the Mysterium Coniunctionis, but that's just a spiritual problem specific to Jung that is hardly measurable as a broad social change. I like Jung but his constant inability to say anything definite pisses me off. He's great in the breadth of his knowledge and as a kind of artist in his own way, but he's not a particularly good thinker.

I am reading Jung's red book and I hold it in high esteem. I experience similar things during regression therapy and understand his writings better thanks to that.
