Okay, so the theory presented here >>1891745 is correct (and i will repost, but it actually is 2000 words so won't fit). If you download Kindle for PC and purchase an ebook from Amazon, nothing has to be stripped. It automatically adds as a .mobi file as opposed to an .azw file (which has to be stripped).

Here is my proof and it is Cows by Matthew Stokoe and Dennis Cooper (already converted to both pdf and epub as well):

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HETSUIJT

I bought it in the spirit of the thread that the idea was started in - a thread about controversial novels - and it was heavily requested. It only cost me about $11 and a little more w/ tax and hopefully it will pay a thousand fold. This was merely a gesture and hopefully the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I

If you don't already have calibre, here's the instructions with calibre (which is necessary).

www.megaupload.com/?d=6WR5X6QH

Also important to note that you can only strip DRM if you have your Kindle serial registered to the calibre through the packaged plugins - if you have an actual Kindle. If you buy an ebook through Kindle for PC -

www.amazon.com/gp/kindle/pc/download/ref=amb_link_151449822_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd
_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=085AZ06JB3EHJAY0MEGF&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1289134842&pf_rd_i=100
0426311

all you need to do is buy and follow the instructions to strip/convert. In any case, it's easy to do and there's no reason we all shouldn't purchase a book, after extensively searching and trying to find to no avail, and sharing it. It's a buy 1 get everything else free type of deal. If no other kind anon has initiated the process, by the time I have received my Kindle, I will purchase at least one book that can't be found online and hope it's just the beginning of a never-ending pile of ebooks that can't otherwise be found online.

You can both purchase from B&N - which is definitely the advantage of Nook over Kindle as it offers over a 1mil+ more ebooks in the epub format without having to strip anything and it is easily converted - or Amazon which offers ebooks in .azw format and has to at least be stripped of DRM.

.....and therefore we all should get an ereader/Amazon for PC, if for nothing else, but to make books that would not otherwise be available, for free, online. Just check ebay, bid and eventually you will get a good deal. Hell, you can get a brand new Kindle from amazon - if you do not mind special offers ie "commercials" - for $114. It includes wifi. The other Kindle - the one that include 3g - is unnecessary if you have internet and easy access to wifi as the only reason you will ever need 3G is to buy a book online. Anyways...

Thank you and have a very nice morning/day/afternoon/night.

i'm pretty sure tao does lurk these boards and that he also actively pursues his ebooks being offered for free to file dmca on them...........not a problem. file is small and most fileshosts, with the exception of megaupload, have a copy button so you can easily duplicated files 10-fold (my experience is vanessa rand/v_sexie). you're not going to go to jail for this, dude. just going to reup/copy the ebook and repost it and the very most.

Start Calibre, go to Preferences page... click on the Plugins button. Click on the "Load plugin from file" button at the bottom-right of the screen. Use the file dialog button to select the plugin's zip file (K4MobiDeDRM_v03.1_plugin.zip - inside the archive, in the Calibre_Plugins folder) and click the "Add" button. Then click on the "Yes" button in the warning dialog that appears. A Confirmation dialog appears that says the plugin has been installed. Click "Apply" and close the Preferences page.
Now add the e-books to your Calibre library, the plug-in should decode them on-the-fly. Locate the folder where Calibre keeps your e-books and look for the file you’ve just imported. You could also Convert books from Calibre menu to any other supported format.

if you buy through kindle for pc, nothing else needs to be done. rather than an azw (encrypted mobi), they just give you a mobi file.

I'M A GROWN FUCKING MAN AND THEREFORE I DO NOT SIT AROUND WANKING MYSELF ALL THE TIME LIKE A SPIDER MONKEY TRAPPED IN A SAFARI PARK CAGE, YOUR ACCUSATION THAT I PIRATE PORN IS THEREFORE INVALID.

WHEN I DO WATCH PORN, I WATCH IT WITH MY WIFE AND I BUY IT ON A DVD FROM THE SEX SHOP AROUND THE CORNER. THIS HAPPENS MAYBE ONCE EVERY YEAR.

you are a minority, my friend. everyone pirates in some form or another, whether it be music or porn or movies or books. and they are all well paid. they get theirs. and most of them - musicians, authors, directors, actors and especially porn (who simply fuck on camera and make shitloads of money) - are overrated and talentless. get over it. faggot.
