18993517 No.18993517 [Reply] [Original]

You're on an imageboard, shitposting along in the catalog, when all of a sudden you look down and see a luxury periodical. Its publication date is crawling toward you. You reach down and you flip the magazine over on its back, Anon. The periodical lays on its back, its pages baking in the hot WIP file. It's trying to reach publication, but it can't – not without your submission, but you're not submitting.
Why is that, Anon?

By the way,
call me a tranny, but maybe we ought to make a Discord or something similar.
It'd be nice to verify authorship

Make this a little more organised, you know
Just a thought

rightfully so. I use 4chan for a reason. If I wanted tranny namefag drama I'd be on reddit right now.

i asked before, and the editor gave an answer tantamount to "anything". i've never submitted my trashy uninteresting ramblings, though, so i can't speak as to whether "anything" refers to a submission or an acceptance criteria.

I enjoy that this exists but would never contribute myself and probably won't read beyond skimming. Somehow it just makes me reflect on online literary magazines - whenever I've looked at them they feel incredibly uptight and self-conscious, whereas this just seems like fun (but it has limited potential).

It's like something went missing in public culture, or the survival pressures force anything literary to behave in certain ways (humourless, rigid, obedient to authority, socially conscious, not interested in being playful) to get arts grants and patronage and certain kinds of readership.

It's not about it being recognized as mine. It's more about letting go of something that's just mine, and letting it become its own thing. Feels like letting a part of me go. I'm not concerned about clout from a tiny journal off of 4chan
