You've got the turd part mixed up a little. He felt an immense guilt for thinking blasphemous thoughts (as I myself did when I was a kid), but he realized that God would only allow him to have these thoughts if they were permitted, and so zestfully imagined God taking a giant shit in the middle of the church in an act of freedom. I, on the other hand, did not come to such a conclusion, remained silent in my shame and never said a word about any of this to priest or family member, until later but by then I'd already lost my faith.
