I was just reading a pragraph by Woolf, and the technique was very good, there was a fine description of a fish being mangled by a fishing boy, but it didn't take more than ten lines for the main character to start crying, with ''tears rolling down her cheek'' and all such crap.
Many male writers are kitsch too, most writers are, but not all.
