This was actually better than Journey.

No shit. Journey is just Robinson Crusoe for retards. Celine doesn't get good until he gets comfortable in this style and abandons all conventions. Next is his pamphlets, where you'll see /pol/ arguments and hyperbole, then continue on chronologically. You also skipped The Church, so go back and read that before the pamphlets.

Alright. I already read some of Trifles for a good laugh, actually I had the text-to-speech read it to me while I was at work. I found it quite cathartic. But right now I have Guignol's Band and Prof. Y in the mail.

Professor Y is good, how was the text-to-speech? Did it sound weird or were you able to enjoy it? I did the audiobook for Death on Credit, but read the rest.

It's pretty weird but it works I guess. I prefer reading it though because I absorb it better.

Depends, someone like Celine language isn't as important plus it's a translation so I'd prefer to sit back and enjoy it rather than read it. Other writers, I'd rather read.

No, journey was a bit meandering but he overdoes it in this one, still a very good book

Just bought all of this guy's work in dutch translation, never read anything by him before. What am I in for?

Celine is based, i loved journey so much, it was a revelation to me that an author can write absolutely filthy shit and still shit all over all the academics and literary traditions before him, managing to still be poetically beautiful as well. fuck the chuds fuck the fuds, celine for life, also fuck the you know WHO's trying to shut celines legacy down.
