Yes. Usually after the gym I would make a 1000 Calorie protein shake. I make it out of 250 to 300 ml of whole milk and would add a sliced, frozen banana. Then I would add two scoups of protein powder which accounts to about 35 to 40 g, depending on how heaped the powder is. Then I'd add about 30 to 50 g of rolled oats. If I have it, then I'll also add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, about 50 g, and adds an extra 3 to 4 hundred calories. I blend it on and off for 2 minutes and then I sit down and read, while occasionally having a nice sip.

In the evening if read I usually grab a can of non-alcoholic beer.

Coffee & just enough tobacco to take the edge off it, chocolate sometimes, sometimes paired with a properly jammy wine, but never anything wholesome or substantial. Liquor I reserve for writing, to augment hypergraphia into lyric mode, though the 4th time I read the Frame translation of Montaigne's essays (as usual out of sequence) it was on a very long but low-level binge during a vacation. The 5th & 6ths times I continued without, to a more memorable if less comfy effect. It's possible to be too comfy.
>>18878089
A better answer to Cunterfly's question is that it's the writer, and not the subject, that makes it literary to the degree it is. Think for instance of Dickinson's "blanks", or the obliviousness of nature to nature. A comparable idea is that of how a photographer with a macro lens could spend a whole day exploring a few square meters of waste-ground in a region resplendent with variety in plants & insects hardly noticed in other moods, and never noticed by those of a more normal, that is to say, artless, disposition.
