Welder, a blue collar job, is traditionally thought of as a job that not very intellectual people, the opposite of readers, would take. Thus, you are bragging about how you "overcame adversity", and by making a post encouraging others to overcome the same "adversity", you get further brownie points by being a leader and an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity.
