so i read Ulysses from start to finish and got absolutely brutally filtered by most of it.

what are the main things i need to read so i can read it again and get more out of it?

weirdly the chapters everyone said were the most difficult (oxens of the sun and the night town one) i found easier to read than almost all the stream of consciousness stuff, which i could barely follow even with online guides.

Don't worry about it, the only reason people read Ulysses is so they can brag about having read Ulysses. It doesn't matter if you didn't understand half of it, as long as you finished it. Congratulations you now have a official shitposting license.

I read it years ago and did not enjoy it.
Dubliners was great but Joyce is a whiny little child who plays word games stuck in puberty for all eternity.
Stephen Dedalus - wow what a profound name. it's like a child coming up with a name
>I need something Greek that implies I build labyrinths with my words... watcha think anon?
though I do think his panty fetish was based

and a pdf of ulysses annotated.
Read Dubliners, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Ulysses is really not too difficult. Wonderful and enjoyable read.
