Idk wasn't the main point that psychoanalysis was pathologizing people for being incompatible with the norms of a capitalist society bent on harnessing one's desires to serve its own ends? But hey you know just keep posting cope and seethe over and over.

What these two retards describe as "capitalism" or "fascism" is broadly applicable to pretty much every major human social structure. There is no conceivable, functioning civilized society where one or another tendency is not "pathologized", or where no authoritarian way of enforcing social cohesion exists.
The whole thing is just a purely abstract line of thought that has no meaningful connection or application to reality.

What AO is arguing is far more specific than the broader scope the other poster wants to take things to, a scope which approaches meaninglessness if we are to play along with him and debate whether or not governments are restrictive of their population instead of what AO is about. Why return bad faith with anything but bad faith?

>> No.18810821

>>18810770
It seems fair to assume that, if D&G were critiquing something specific to capitalism, they’d have a system in mind that wouldn’t suffer from the same flaws they ascribe to capitalism. If they don’t, then their whole critique is worthless.

Also, complaining about imaginary bad faith is not an argument. Not a single person in this thread has said anything yet to contradict the OP.

You two are contradicting each other. Either the book is criticizing capitalism specifically (which, by itself, implies the failings of capitalism are not inherent to the human condition as a whole, and thus may be fixed, as I’m sure the authors intended when they supported legalizing pedophilia) or it’s not, in which case they should’ve changed their terminology.
I’ve a strong suspicion you faggots are just pretending to have read it.

Yes, and the whole point of the critique is that psychoanalysis serves as a reinforcement of authoritarian normative structures, which the rest of the book (and its intellectual forebears) associates with capitalism and fascism specifically. You’re just obfuscating at this point.

>There is no conceivable, functioning civilized society where one or another tendency is not "pathologized", or where no authoritarian way of enforcing social cohesion exists.

Correct, you have understood the basic point of departure of AO's politics. It is exactly what D&G acknowledge. They just try to understand why it's the case, and how it is possible that this pathologizing is never complete and how social machines allow for escapes and changes to their pathologizing functioning.
