I absolutely despise the notion that these unselfaware redditors espouse. They act as if everything that is beyond their own intellectual capabilities is merely empty intellectually posturing and then proceed to go full crabs in a bucket mode. My biggest epiphany that I've had in relation to this mentality was when I read the goodreads reviews for 100 Years of Solitude when I was a teenager. A lot of the reviewers were holding the same sentiment that these redditors are holding, that anyone who liked this book was just posturing and liked it for the mere fact that it was considered a classic. 100 years of soltitude is a easy book to read in Spanish. Hell, it's read for school sometimes here in Latam, the 'common ma' can read it by the force of human drama if he was. It's entertaining, like a circus of a myth.
The language is uncomplicated. Only 'difficult' thing (it's not) is to keep up with the repeating names. In that regard Sound and Fury is 'harder'. The only vanguardist/'weird' narrative thing is the use of flashbacks and flashworward, the theme of recursivity of time and the 'magic realism' thing.
