Not that far-fetched as a lot of Greek philosophy and mythology was inspired by ancinet Aramaic texts. Homer was said to be inspired by Moses but he just did a hellenic makeover as it was done in ever culture to modify the entities of other cultures in their image. Without the Jews, Western civilization would never have existed. It would have been at the level of development of Celts who were arguably well developed but not as Greco-Romans who were drenched in near east wisdom.

Western Civilization is Christian Civilization. In that regard, it is the TRUE Jewish Civilization, because it is the continuation of the civilization of Israel from the days of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and beyond. The entirety of Old Testament Judaism culminates in Christ, the Messiah long-prophesied who would redeem Israel and give it dominion over all the earth. But the chief priests and the elders of the Jews put Him to death instead, and so God rejected the Jews once and for all and laid upon them 2000 years of suffering and punishment for their cruelty towards Him. Meanwhile God turned to the Gentiles of Rome and Greece who eagerly embraced Christ, and they became the new Chosen People, Israel having been stripped of its birthright, rather similar to what Jacob does to Esau.

Esau sold his birthright for stew. The Jews sold their birthright for 30 pieces of silver.
