"Roman Catholicism is, in my opinion, worse than Atheism itself. Yes—that is my opinion. Atheism only preaches a negation, but Romanism goes further; it preaches a disfigured, distorted Christ—it preaches Anti-Christ—I assure you, I swear it! This is my own personal conviction, and it has long distressed me. The Roman Catholic believes that the Church on earth cannot stand without universal temporal Power. He cries ‘non possumus!’ In my opinion the Roman Catholic religion is not a faith at all, but simply a continuation of the Roman Empire, and everything is subordinated to this idea—beginning with faith. The Pope has seized territories and an earthly throne, and has held them with the sword. And so the thing has gone on, only that to the sword they have added lying, intrigue, deceit, fanaticism, superstition, swindling;—they have played fast and loose with the most sacred and sincere feelings of men;—they have exchanged everything—everything for money, for base earthly power! And is this not the teaching of Anti-Christ? How could the upshot of all this be other than Atheism? Atheism is the child of Roman Catholicism—it proceeded from these Romans themselves, though perhaps they would not believe it. It grew and fattened on hatred of its parents; it is the progeny of their lies and spiritual feebleness." - From "The Idiot"

We Christians wanted to be as different from Jews are possible. When the bible tells Jews to walk left, we walk right. When the bible tells jews to walk right, we walk left. We saw the abysmal failure of jewry and decided to do the opposite of it.

Pochvennichestvo is a pathetic movement by a pathetic people who 40 years after that launched themselves into the greatest Atheist Project in history.

Today the Russian Orthodox Church are a bunch of infighting morons, Russians x Ukrainians x Greeks x East, all controlled by their political masters, with the former Russian head being a blatant KGB agent.

Dostoevsky pathetic Russian chauvinism is a complete denial of the reality of what Russia really is, a land of failed imperialist dreams and life in a constant longing for a golden past that never existed while sure they have a bright future ahead because Russia Good.

I thought that Christians didn't have to adhere to the old law, as it was mentioned by Christ. The necessity of sacrifices and ritualistic practices from Leviticus are also disregarded.

>In Matthew 23:9 Jesus says, "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven." Many people interpret this to mean, "Do not call a priest "father," and do not call your dad "father." Some who hold this opinion go further and believe that calling a priest "father" violates Scripture because it seemingly involves the rejection of a direct command from Jesus. This is a common objection to the Catholic Church. But, if we believe the conclusion that it is wrong to call others "father," then what are we to make of the Scriptures that contradict this one? For example, in Mark 7:9-13, Jesus criticizes the Pharisees and scribes for not honoring their "fathers." Furthermore, calling the apostles and their successors "father" was common within the early Christian communities (cf. 1 Cor. 4:15; 1 Jn. 2:12; Acts 7:2; 22:1). As in the case of all scriptural interpretations, we must understand this passage in light of the rest of Scripture (cf. 2 Pet. 1:20; 3:16). This interpretative principle is called the analogy of faith (Catechism, no. 114).

>Do Catholics just pull doctrine out of their ass?
Please stop calling discipline doctrine because it shows your ignorance and lack of understanding of Catholicism. That Leviticus quote is ceremonial old law. Do protestants refrain from eating shrimp? Don't think so.

Also

St. Germanus I, Patriarch of Constantinople
>"The double crown inscribed on the head of the priest through tonsure represents the precious head of the chief-apostle Peter. When he was sent out in the teaching and preaching of the Lord, his head was shaved by those who did not believe his word, as if in mockery. The Teacher Christ blessed this head, changed dishonour into honour, ridicule into praise.

It's obvious that this passage is trying to show how our Heavenly father is our true father, incomparable to any father or teacher on earth. Colloquial use of the father is admitted as seen by the apostles use of it, granted that one has the understanding of who our real father is. Also, I'm pretty sure you'll never find a protestant who doesn't refer to his father as father/dad nowadays. This is one of the stupidest arguments against Catholicism.

1 Corinthians 4:15
>15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

The Acts of the Apostles isn't the Word of God? Did he not give them the authority to teach all nations? (Matthew 28:19-20)
