O'Connor is very catholic and she tends to preach. Carson is more balanced, religion often plays a role but things do not boil down to heaven or hell, much more nuanced. Generally speaking, people do not enjoy O'Connor much if they are also very catholic.

I wanted to read this because of the homosexual romance and it wasn't that exciting really.

If you can’t read Italian there’s French.

She was a great author. She translated into Italian Katherine Mansfield, Virginia Woolf, John Donne and William Carlos Williams. Had a profound relationship with Elémire Zolla, historian of religion and occultist/traditionalist philosopher.

As far as I'm concerned, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is the only book in history that is written by a female author AND is not read solely based on the fact it was written by a female author. Sylvia Plath, Flannery O'Connor, ect ect are all featured in "female authors you should read" list but never in "books you should read" lists, unlike Frankenstein, which appears in both. Mary Shelley is truly /ourgirl/.
