That's the entire character ark of Wotan in the Ring.

>The development of the whole poem sets forth the necessity of recognising and yielding to the change, the many-sidedness, the multiplicity, the eternal renewing of reality and of life. Wotan rises to the tragic height of willing his own destruction. This is the lesson that we have to learn from the history of mankind: to will what necessity imposes, and ourselves to bring it about.

Friendly reminder that fetishizing POAs (People of Animation) is ableist against ICs (Inanimate Corpses). Talking about ICs causing you "fear" is disgusting. Acting like becoming an IC is the worst possible outcome for your life is vile. Check your privilege. Just because you are a POA doesn't mean you need to act like a POS (Piece of Shit).

you should always fear death somewhat, but you should just become more accepting of it

Have just enough ego, OP, so that you don't step in front of a moving bus. Excessive egotism leads to anxiety and depression, but a little bit is required to function. After all, humans are very egotistical creatures.

It is nigh impossible to truly free yourself from the fear of death. Either your psychological fear of the idea of the void, or pondering about the way (you) will die, or the desperate physiological struggle of your own body to keep you alive at all costs, it is almost certain that you will still fear death at some level. If you ever felt any sort of fear in your life then you also feared death, because all fear is born from something which could potentially threaten your livelihood and so, by extention, when you fear something specific and even unrelated to the concept of death, you also fear death. And that's fine. Because you share this aspect with every single organism on this planet.

there are none; if you want to get over dying you have to will yourself to. anything external won't matter in the face of death.

>> No.18642259

Reading Schopenhauer often brings me great consolation when contemplating death. After all, I am the world, and the world is I. I am but a dream of the will, a temporary instantiation of its innumerable forms of expression throughout all eternity. And from whence I came I shall again emerge.

"There is not a grain of dust, not an atom that can become nothing, yet man believes that death is the annihilation of his being."
