I have maybe 200 books, and I think 2 of them (non fiction, on embryology) were co authored by women.
What am I missing out on?
Are there any books written by women that would appeal to men? I'm not saying written for men, but written in a way that would appeal to them.

Methinks status and respect in one field differs from another. Status and respect in fitness is different from status and respect in litness. Though money is still the same.

In my experience most of what is written by women is also written for women. Up until relatively recently the written fields have been dominated by male voices and several of them still are. All that when combined with the reality that the majority of books are mediocre at best and more often just plain bad, brings me to the conclusion that there just isn't nearly as much worthwhile content written by women that is interesting and relatable to the male audience

Simone de Beauvoir's A Very Easy Death was decent. Picked it up as I was struggling with the death of a relative. Been meaning to read more of her like The Second Sex.

Anyone who wants to add a female writer to their list check out The Yellow Wall-paper by Charlltte Perkins Gilman. Free PDF is easily found via google, very short and very sweet Gothic Americana story with plenty of substance.
